This past month Bella and Sookie were happily reunited with their mom, although this did mean a bittersweet parting between them and their foster family.
Let’s take a closer look at one of our awesome foster families that took in Bella, an Australian shepherd, and Sookie, a red heeler! Patrick and Vanessa and their two sons, Aidan and Gavin, happily opened their hearts and their home to these furry friends in need when their parents had a military school assignment back home in the states. Patrick and Vanessa made the courageous decision to begin fostering after their own fur family member passed away. Not being fully prepared to adopt another dog of their own, fostering offered the perfect opportunity to fill that empty space while helping a family in need.
Bella and Sookie adjusted well to their new surroundings and to being around Gavin and Aidan. The young boys helped take on the responsibility of walking Bella and Sookie and introduced them to other children in the neighborhood. The two have also brought some giggles into the daily routine as they’ve adjusted to having screen doors in the house and snoring during their naps. “Our foster family enjoyed taking Bella and Sookie on trail walks, teaching Gavin and Aidan how to properly care for a pet and, of course, the companionship of having two new furry friends in the house.” said Vanessa.
Bella and Sookie adjusted well to life with their foster family, and their new home quickly grew to appreciate the laughter, life lessons, and companionship the pair brought to everyone! Thanks again to our amazing foster family for taking care of Bella and Sookie and offering their parents peace of mind
